Healing belongs to us

Abraham was the first person to be called a prophet (Gen 20:7) A prophet is someone who is anointed by God to speak the mind of God.
One of the first public ministries of Abraham was to pray for healing for Abimelech and his household.

It is a very interesting story that you should read (Genesis 20:1-18).

The ability to heal lies easily within the capability of God. Most Christians and non Christians alike believe this. Nevertheless we somehow doubt God's willingness to heal.

Salvation and healing

Jesus died and shed His blood to pay for our sins and restore us back into fellowship with God our Father. What many of us do not realise is that the same blood that washes away our sins also brings about healing from sickness, disease and every oppression of the enemy. Consider it a complete package. The blood of Jesus provides all our needs. Consider Isaiah 53 1-6 Isaiah was another prophet of God who spoke the mind of God. He lived hundreds of years before the birth of Christ. He speaks prophetically about the ministry of Jesus and mentions the key elements of Christ's ministry, namely

  1. He lives a very humble and ordinary life.

  2. He is rejected and despised by the people he came to serve.

  3. He bears the grief, sorrow and sin of the whole human race

  4. He came to bring healing and health to our body.
Read Isaiah 53:1-6 to get the complete picture.

In many parts of Europe, America and Asia travel companies offer what are commonly called package holidays. These are holidays, which have been pre arranged and include everything a family or group of people would need for a holiday. The transport, hotel accommodation, tours e.t.c have all been arranged and priced.

All the people taking a holiday need to do is pay the price requested by the travel company and they will receive everything they need to enjoy a holiday. This is what Isaiah 53:1-6 is describing. Jesus Christ has provided for all our spiritual and physical needs.

Isaiah 61:1-6 is another part of scripture you should read. This scripture makes clear the mission of Jesus. Its description is so accurate that Jesus Himself read it out at the beginning of His earthly ministry. Pause again now and read Luke 4:16-23 It might help to read it aloud to yourself. Here you have Jesus making a brief yet vivid outline of His ministry to mankind. You will notice that healing is part of it. For good measure read 1 Peter 2:24-25. Healing is all over the Bible. Its part of the package. As long as the blood is saving people the blood will also heal them. It's the same Jesus that accomplishes both and He has not changed (Hebrews 13:5-8)

If you want more evidence then take a close look at the ministry of Jesus when He walked the earth. It might take awhile but you do not have to read all these references today. Try reading them all over the next few days.

Matthew 9:1-38, Mark 2:1-12, Luke 5:12-26, John 5:1-18

Faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17) Even if you do not need physical healing from God now it will still be wise to build your faith in this area. If you are believing God for healing, either for yourself or for a loved one, then spend time reading the references given above.

Healing belongs to us. Its part of the package. Road about it, get faith for it and receive it.
