Snatching souls from the jaws of death

Eight British soldiers and four American air crew have been reported killed in an accident (at the time of this writing). There is also an unknown number of Iraqi troops and civilians killed. God loves them all and our prayers can make a difference.
In Exodus 17: 8 - 13 we read an interesting story that illustrates the power of intervening prayer.

8 Then (1) Amalek came and fought against Israel at (2) Rephidim.
9 So Moses said to (3) Joshua, "Choose men for us and go out, fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will station myself on the top of the hill with (4) the staff of God in my hand."
10 Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought against Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and (5) Hur went up to the top of the hill.
11 So it came about when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed, and when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed.
12 But Moses' hands were heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur (6) supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other. Thus his hands were steady until the sun set.
13 So Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

God has committed himself to our prayers.

The hand of Moses .. and Aaron and Hur

Aaron and Hur were not in the battle but their actions dictated its outcome.
God does not want any to perish. That includes Iraqi's also.

Until He comes again to establish His full reign and rule on earth He is restricted by our prayers. Souls can be saved and lost by our prayers.

Iraqi lives as well as allied troops and personnel can be preserved by the prevailing power of prayer
We need to lift our hands up. This is one type of prayer that only brings glory to God. No person is every likely to know the effects of your prayers. Coming to think of it, you might never know the full impact of your prayer either.

Pulled out of destruction

The prayers of Abraham saved Lot from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The city still fell but God's favour kept Lot because Abraham, a man who was favoured by God, prayed - Genesis 18 and 19

We can preserve souls who would have otherwise died by praying for God's mercy.
I really think God is telling us this.

Saved from the plague

Again in Numbers 16: 41 - 49 we read of Moses actions saving the people from the anger of the Lord.
We don't know who will be preserved from the horrors of war by our prayers but this we do know.
Prayer saves people from physical and spiritual death.

A desperate woman

Read the account of Jesus healing a woman's daughter of demonic oppression in Matthew 15:21-28. It took her crying out despite the silence of heaven.

You can be sure that demonic forces are at work in the war we witness today.

The fact that we have not been able to prevent the war - because the role it had to play in future world events (and end time events) does not mean that we cannot snatch souls out from the jaws of death

Let the Holy Spirit drop burdens and names on your heart to pray for.
Do not expect to pray only for people from your country or region
God wants no one to die this way

Children, women, boys and men are all involved, many of them unwillingly

Read the scripture references above. Let faith arise in your heart and then snatch should out of harms way.

If Abraham did it with Lot then we can do it too.
