The Fight Is Fixed!

All bets are in!!! Henry G is going to meet Bill one on one in the boxing ring and it wouldn?t be pretty, at least not for Bill. Henry G is notorious for fighting dirty and is at least 31lbs heavier than Bill with solid muscle. Henry G has 36 wins to his name. Bill has none.

The outcome was sure. Henry G would obtain a win within the first 5 minutes of the game with a total knock out. But there was just something that didn?t add up. In all the press interviews Bill had maintained his confidence as he sat side by side with this new coach who had no failures credited to his name. This coach was very peculiar in every sense of the word. His opponent did not intimidate Bill, as he raved and grunted about his soon to have victory.

Bill drew his strength from his new coach who was rumoured to have some connections with the judge that would be judging on the night of the fight. Bill almost appeared cocky with a smug smile on his face. Did he really think he stood a chance against his overpowering opponent?

Now the big night is here, all speculations would materialise. Bill was going to loose big!
Just 4 minutes into the fight, with Henry G well ahead on points, Bill clocked Henry G with an unexpected overhand right to the chin, sending Henry G on his back for the first time in his career. He got back up before the referee could count him out. Another 2 minutes into the fight a left hand hook was delivered by Bill and once again Henry G was flat on his back, only this time he couldn?t get back up.

The audience grew silent with shock as they tried to absorb the reality of what just happened. As Bill walked silently to his corner the silence was broken with angry chants that grew louder and louder as it spread around the auditorium. The fight is fixed!!! The fight is fixed!!!
Give us our money back. The fight is fixed!!! He went down purposely, the fight is fixed!!!

Even though this story is fictional, statistics show that many boxing matches are fixed today. The outcome is already determined before the beginning of the fight and the fighters just go through the motions in order to get their money.

What is more real and applicable to you is that YOU ARE ALSO IN A FIXED FIGHT.
Your opponent is Satan. Your coach is Jesus Christ and the judge is God.
The bribe is the blood of Jesus. Which was shed on the cross of Calvary.

For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 (New International Version)

Jesus Christ is our great mediator, always pleading our cause. The connection between your coach and the judge is that they are father and son. What better connection can there be? Satan is fighting a loosing battle.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33 (NIV)

It doesn?t matter how many times you get into a fight with the devil as he doesn?t easily give up and like Henry G he fights dirty. The outcome is already determined. GLORY TO GOD! So don?t get into a panic when the storms of life blow. Jesus said that you would have trouble, but keep your peace because he has already overcome the world on your behalf.

Why not be like Bill who maintained his confidence at the press interviews even though Henry G flexed his muscles, grunted and raved about his soon to have victory? Bill kept his cool because he knew that the fight was fixed. He could not loose same way you cannot loose. There can only be one winner. You are the winner through Christ Jesus.

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still" Exodus 14:14 (N I V)

As the lord fights for you, you must learn to be still. Keep your cool through praising god, praying and meditating on the word. That way you will focus on the Power of God rather than the strength of your opponent.

The LORD is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1 (NIV)

King David understood that the fight was fixed. He feared no one because he knew that the greatest of the greatest was on his side. If you make the Lord the stronghold of your life then you?ll have nothing to fear. He?ll be a refuge and a tower of strength to you at all times.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (N I V)

This scripture sums it all up. The fight is fixed and the outcome is already determined. Friends we are just going through the motions. God works everything out for the good of those who love him.

That includes the failed relationship the devil thought would destroy you or maybe the unemployment you?ve experienced for the past few months, yet God keeps sustaining you and supplying your needs. It really doesn?t matter what the challenge is.

What matters is that you have the greatest coach- Jesus Christ on your side, who has a divine connection with the judge-God, therefore your opponent-Satan is fighting a loosing battle and will ultimately be knocked flat out on his back.
